Aloha, I’m Roni — the maker behind Kai Honu Lani Designs. When I need to feel grounded, my mind drifts to Hawaii, where my father was born: swaying palms, curling waves, and the unhurried motion of the ocean. That’s the feeling I try to weave into every planner and journal I create. The word for sea turtle is "Honu" - a revered creature symbolizing wisdom, longevity, good luck, and protection in Hawaiian culture. "Kai" means ocean...which is my lifelong love, and "Lani" means heaven. (no explanation needed:)) Thus, the name of the shop was born! In addition to my love of the islands, I’ve always had an appreciation for beautiful art, and I am inspired by the deep, rich colors of Hawaii—ocean blues, sunset warmth, lush greens, and soft sand and water neutrals. You’ll easily see that influence in my designs: peaceful layouts with beautiful, bold colors, patterns, and textures. My planners are intentionally calm and simple—no clutter or overwhelm—just gentle spaces to plan, write, memory keep and reflect. Most of the planners and scrapbooks I make are intended for iPad/tablet use in apps like GoodNotes, Noteshelf, and the newly popular Noteful app which allows you to create layers on your planner pages, to your heart's content. Whether you’re organizing big milestones or capturing little everyday moments, I hope my work helps you feel a little more steady, present, and at peace... the way it does for me. Mahalo for being here.. xo
